Its never too late to be on TV!

BBC Wales are looking for active and inspirational centenarians to
feature in a new tv show, hosted by Welsh/Italian Chef Michela
Chiappa, looking at longevity in Wales.

So if you are 100, or you have someone in your family who will be
celebrating their 100th birthday before the end of June, they would be
interested in hearing your secrets of longevity. Those who are
interested should contact John Porter, Older People’s Coordinator.

Old photos needed

We are looking for historical images that you would like to see added
to a new community mural project at the back of Holton Road. Photos
from your youth would be ideal.

Cinema Card for Carers

In association with cinema companies and the Disability Rights
Commission, the Cinema Exhibitors Association (CEA) have introduced an
ID card. This entitles the holder to one free ticket for a person
accompanying them to the cinema. 90% of cinemas accept the card,
including Cineworld and Odeon Cinemas.

Cowbridge Book Festival Saturday 6 June

A walk and talk about the “Edible Delights in Your Own Back Yard” with
the book’s author, Adele Nozedar.

Adele plans to take her audience on a walk around the Old Hall gardens
before talking about the potential of everyday plants that are
accessible to us all.

Adele hopes that what we learn about the plants included in her book
will enhance both our cooking and our gardening, as well as
contributing to our general health and well-being.

Tickets are £4 and available at the Old Hall, Cowbridge or via the
Cowbridge Book Festival website.

Barry Wartime Weekend 21 and 21 June

Attractions will include military vehicles, free entry to the Barry
War Museum, steam train rides and 19+40’s entertainment.

Subject to the weather the famous Red Arrows display team will be
performing over Whitmore Bay on the Saturday with the RAFs ‘Battle of
Britain’ flypast on the Sunday.
